U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan expressed his sympathy to the Palestinian people.
‘I have grieved each time Chairman Arafat has died,’ said Mr. Annan, ‘and I know the last death will be even harder to take than the previous ones. But I’m comforted that he will go to his rest according to the custom of his people.’
An excerpt from Arafat May Soon Sign Death Certificate
“We don’t want to pressure him,” said the source. “He’s a very thoughtful man. And we would not presume to tell a Nobel Peace Prize winner when it’s time to rest in peace.”

I don’t know if Chairman Arafat is a fan of the Bard, but the current goings-on around his death – or coma – bed, certainly have the ring of a Shakespearean tragedy – no, make that a farce.
