Dammit! Fmragtops gets back from his surveying of Alaska – he was determining where we could best launch a strike against Siberian Russia in the War for Oil when he becomes President – and the first comment he leaves, he tries to blow the whole scheme. Here we are, concocting a war, and he wants to ruin the whole conspiracy.

On my post about Why I Support a War for Oil, he leaves this comment:

I prefer war for oil because of it’s violent, and chaotic nature, but more energy for us is a good reason too.

Well, duh! You seem to forget, FM, that we can’t just say that. In order to rally public support for a war, we need to present the American people with justifications that sound rational. The joy we receive from the severed bodies of children is the real reason for war, but we need to keep that on the down low, if you know what I mean.

It’s like when Bush said all that stuff about spreading democracy, and genocide, WMDs, “no fly zones,” UN resolutions, “Cease fire agreements,” tyranny, and “gathering threats” that were “not yet imminent.” Those sound like good reasons to the general public, and as such, the people start to feel supportive of a war effort.

We get off on the charred remains of innocent babies, but we need to put forth a facade that there are legitimate reasons for war. It’s about dead babies. It’s about the children, and watching their innocence torn from them in horror. It’s about burning villages to the ground, raping the livestock, and slaughtering the women, or something like that, but we need to mislead the people into thinking it’s not about having fun, it’s about making the world a better place.

*snickers* Yeah, right. Woo hoo! Dead babies.

So, FM, next time, be more careful with your words. We don’t want the retards on the Left getting wind of our true intentions.

I’m sick and tired of the Rethuglican talking points about “terrorism” and the “War on Terror” and “Islamofascism.” These are nothing more than Repugnican propaganda to keep the American people in fear of an imaginary enemy.

The Rethuglicans thrive when Americans can rally around a common enemy because of their ability to effectively depict Democrats as weak on national security or even sympathetic toward “the enemy.” If they can succeed in depicting an enemy of America, then they can use that to deflect attention away from domestic failures and as a pretext for power grabs in the name of defeating “the enemy.”

We saw this tactic in the 80′s with Reagan declaring the Soviet Union to be the “Evil Empire.” We can now clearly see that the premise that the USSR posed an existential threat to the US was false. The Soviet Union disbanded with a whimper, and without a single shot being fired. We see this tactic being employed now with Bush and the “Axis of Evil.”

Let’s get one thing straight: There is no terrorist threat.

Just another isolated incident.

The only existential threat we face as a result of “terrorism” is the danger of our own corrupt leaders using their fabricated enemy as a means to strip us of our civil liberties. A few isolated incidences of violence where a rogue group of thugs get lucky, and we’ll be willing to give up our precious freedoms in the name of security. This is the only danger posed by these acts of “terrorism.”

The Republicans use terms like “Islamic fascism” and “Islamonazi,” even though the Muslims bear no resemblance whatsoever to fascists or Nazis. None at all. In fact it is the current administration that uses the fascist tactics of corporatism, military supremacy and nationalism.

Only a small minority of Muslims want to see the demise of the West. Let’s say a mere 10% are sympathetic to the goals and methods of the “terrorists.” Then, let’s say that only one percent of that group feels strongly enough to actually take up arms and strap bombs to themselves to actively fight to achieve that goal. With around 1.5 Billion Muslims worldwide, that would be an army of only 1.5 Million whose “inner struggle” is to rid the Earth of the Kuffar. I’m just making up numbers here, but I think we can agree that one tenth of one percent is a small minority. Maybe my percentages are low, but I think I made my point. Yet, Rethuglicans want us to believe that this small minority actually pose an existential threat to our way of life.
