24 - It’s Just a TV Show

January 17th, 2007 by Fiar · 12 Comments ·

So far in the current season of 24, there have been numerous attacks against Americans that have been unleashed by Islamic terrorists. These attacks have even included a suitcase nuke that was detonated in Los Angeles. There are 4 more suitcase nukes that the Terrorists plan to detonate.

There are probably many people watching this and saying, “See! See that you stupid liberals? That is how terrorism poses an existential threat against our country. This is exactly what will happen if we leave terrorism unchecked.”

To those people, I would like to remind them that 24 is just a purely fictional television drama. It is a fantastic fabrication of fiction. There is no basis for reality in it. None. For one thing, Islam is a Religion of Peace, so it’s entirely unrealistic to have the Terrorists be committing their acts in the name of Islam. If it were realistic, the terrorists would be a bunch of Western corporate thugs.

There is also no way that anything like this could happen for real. Terrorism could conceivably make life feel a little less secure, but could never pose an actual existential threat to us… Unless, of course, they had nukes, but this could never happen.

Iran seeks nuclear capabilities for purely peaceful reasons. They want nuclear power. We have it, so who are we to deprive them of the very thing we allow for ourselves. This is the sort of attitude that fosters the contempt for America that the rest of the world has. Also, North Korea’s missile tests are purely routine. So, clearly there is zero possibility that terrorist, or a hostile nation, could ever have nuclear capabilities.

To summarize, there is no terrorist threat. 24 is just a TV show.

‘24′ is fiction? Are you sure? I mean there’s more factual evidence in one episode of ‘24′ than there is in a year’s worth of CNN reportings.

Maybe I should remove the link I worked into my live blog Monday night?

    Haven’t you heard?

24 is now part of the vast right wing comspiracy to prop Bush’s war on terror (what terrorism?) and to blaspheme Allah and its ‘not extreme in the slightest little bit’ followers. At least according to that great brain trust, Keith Olbermann on MSNBC.

    Jack Bauer IS the mole!

Well, Jack Bauer is obviously a racist since he’s killed a bunch of muslims and a black guy.

I seem to recall a Ben Affleck movie where a nuke went off at a football game. Was “The Sum of All Fears” starring Mr. Democratic Party himself a neocon wet-dream too? CNN, MSNBC, etc. can all get bent.

Yeah, but I think the nuke in The Sum of All Fears was set off by Russians, or some other Eastern European group though. I might be wrong about that one, but It’s perfectly okay to portray Europeans as terrorists. You just can’t take that huge leap of portraying muslims as terrorists.

No, there are no terrorists. They’re a product of a vast right wing conspiracy to have a bunch of radical neo-con’s disguise themselves as Middle Easterners in order to set them up as a scapegoat for all the evils that capitalist sadists want to inflict upon the West.

Russia was never an oppressive state with an oppressive government that encompassed other governments under their umbrella. They were simply a misunderstood, peace loving system of government that, again, was painted by the right as being “evil.”

Ossama bin Laden is just misunderstood. He’s a prophet of peace, a man who wants nothing more than to see people live freely and in harmony with the world around them.

And I’m sure he’s a great fan of the bikini.

    LONG LIVE THE BURKAH!

SHAME on the series 24 for playing into the right wing conspiracy.

And could I get a little bacon, here, please?

(A personal note regarding the burkah; I truly believe that the thong bikini is one of the greatest things to have ever come along to make the world a more beautiful place to live in :) hehe)

In the Sum of All Fears book, the terrorists were Muslims.
In the movie, they changed it to Nazis.

You know, for realism, reflecting the reality of all the Nazi terrorist attacks going on world-wide.

And Chris, you really are a fucking douchebag.
