Flame War Parody #29 - Almond Joy Vs. Ron Paul

June 29th, 2008 by Fiar · 19 Comments ·

It’s Sunday, so it must be time for another argument where we each choose an unjustifiably stupid position, and defend it with an incomprehensible degree of fervor. That’s the way the weekly flame war parody works, if you happen to be new here, or perhaps this is your first time clicking through from Humor-Blogs.com.

This weeks topic:

Which is nuttier: An Almond Joy or Ron Paul?

Discuss.

Almond Joy is nuttier, yet Ron Paul melts in your hands . . .

  • 2 Chris C. // Jun 29, 2008 at 9:13 pm

Isn’t it the other way around?

  • 3 RT // Jun 29, 2008 at 10:55 pm

Almond joy has two nuts, right? Ron Paul has none.

Yah but originally the jingle was:

“Peter Paul Almond Joy’s got nuts, Mounds don’t. ”

Note the Paul reference on the nuts side.

Because, sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t. Almond Joy’s got nuts Mound’s don’t. And Ron Paul has big nut’s for talking junk about the evil Federal Reserve, crooked cheats.

Does anybody know where I can get those cool and very handy “Tap Lights”? I don’t see the infomercials anymore and I have come up empty on eBay and Craigslist.

I would like to see Cindy McCain’s “Mounds.”

The answer is clearly Ron Paul - the Mars family has excellent quality control to ensure that each almond joy has two nuts, no more-no less, where as Ron Paul has nuttiness galore, not to be confused with the James Bond movie character Miss Pussy Galore.

    Paul is definitely nuttier.
When eating an almond joy, the nuts are the first to go….in the election, the nuts stick around until the bitter end.

I guess it all comes down to which one you’re going to stick in your mouth to find out for sure. I’m all for the Almond Joy.

  • 12 Chris C. // Jul 1, 2008 at 12:19 am

I think you all are sick for wanting to stick nuts in your mouth.

  • 13 RT // Jul 1, 2008 at 1:36 am

Wait. I always thought….oh, never mind.

I agree with Augusto’s point about quality control. There is very little quality control over escaped mental patients.

I’d say Obama is clearly the “Mounds” candidate… ;)

Sean in CA - after your bizarre tap lights infomercial comment I’m hesitant to agree but I have to concede that I agree with your second comment that Obama is not the ‘nutty’ candidate.

Although I think that Ron Paul has finally withdrawn (but I’m not really sure) so that leaves the contest between McSame and Obama the muslim.

And how is it that the ‘other’ middle America nutjobs see the Reverend Wright tapes from that Baptist Church and still think Obama is a muslim?

These are the things that keep me awake at night worrying about the sanity of the American voter. Well, that and the crazies that worship Mary and the Pope - but that is a story for another day.

Actually I was going for the subtle “Obama /coconut” analogy.

It’s sad that most of America has been conditioned to consider someone that would like to steer the country back towards the course our founding fathers intended for us a “nut”, but such is life in America, Inc. in 2008.

At this point I’d like to believe Obama represents “change” and a “new beginning” - but we’ve been sold that bill of goods before. I just pray he doesn’t play “Don’t Stop” at his nomination party. That would be too eerie. I’d prefer “We Right Here” by DMX. (If Obama knows who DMX is, of course.)

Augusto, you make a good point about the Rev. Wright issue. That’s pretty clear cut that Obama is an atheist. Unless he was confused by all the death to America rhetoric, in which case, he may have thought he was attending a mosque. In which case, it’s pretty compelling evidence that Obama is a muslim. But don’t take my word for it, I don’t understand the need to place importance on mythologies.

I’m all for it, but it’s also important to realize that it took decades to slide into socialism, and we can’t just make drastic changes.

Also, Obama is no change, he’s as much of a cut and paste, socialist utopia, corrupt, say what sounds good to get elected, do anything to stay in power Democrat as all the rest of the Democrats, and Redemocrats.
