Counterterrorism Blog reports on a tape of Osama Bin Laden that has been released. Bill Roggio says,
This video is about 19 minutes long and shows a still image of OBL and moving images of Zarqawi. There have been no fresh videos of OBL since October 2004.
The tape makes reference to the body of the now air temperature, Abu Musab al Zarqawi, and instructs the Bush to release the body to his family, according to CNN’s translation.
Bin Laden also makes reference to some other current events. He begins by thanking Bill Keller, and the New York Times for their diligent service in helping to terminate an effective counter terrorism program (SWIFT) and states that he applauds the “great work” being done by the NYT in “Helping to bring death to America.”
Bin Laden also spoke of the Hamdan decision by the Supreme Court. He pointed out that it will be much more difficult to wage the war on the infidel, now that the Supreme Court has ruled compliance with the Geneva Conventions. “Now we will no longer be able to use children as human shields, or target civilians. We will be forced to wear uniforms definitively distinguishing between our forces and the civilians.”
He stated that despite the blow to the effective methods commonly used by al-Quaeda being ruled to be against the Geneva Conventions, “We will stay the course.” See Point Five for more details.
