Help Wild Bill

October 7th, 2006 by Fiar · 4 Comments ·

I have a lot to say about Wild Bill and the fact that he’s being threatened with a lawsuit now. Almost too much. It’s taken me a while to figure out what needed most to be said, and I finally reached that point. I found the minimal amount that I can say and still make my point.

In my year and a half of blogging, I have given my phone number to three people that I have met through blogging. Three. Wild Bill is one of those people. Wild Bill is my friend, and that’s all that matters to me in this whole mess.

I have thousands of words to say about this detail, and that opinion, but none of it matters. What does matter is that Bill is my friend. I may get around to saying more at some point, and I may not, but I state to you today, William Kerr is my friend.

The only thing that will change that is if he does something to me personally to betray that.

I support my friends, and I stand by them. I hope you will help Wild Bill too and offer your support.

Thatisall.

Spreading the data around widely to smaller more annonymous blogs is probably the easiest response right now. It will cost them *BIG* $$$ to serve subpoenas and such on the blog providers, get the telco/cable companies to track down IP’s and user accounts, etc for a swarm of small blogs.

Bill was easy for them to send threatening emails to because he publishes a real email address at his blog (understanadable if you want to get tips and such from readers).

I’ve already posted on the key points Bill discovered, and I’m sure many other have too.

Its tough to herd cats ;-> Mr Jones is about to get a rude lesson in the economics of persuing bullshit cases against the blogosphere.

I just don’t get why it’s such a big deal. Welcome to the internet I guess. I would have done the exact same thing. The EXACT same thing, I just didn’t see the same broadcast that he saw.

To me, that’s part of what the internet is about. If someone F’s up, and displays a name of someone on a news broadcast, then it’s their fault. Even though they just posted the screen name, it’s practically the same thing. Kudos to him for being inquisitive enough to pick up on it.

If you want to sue somebody, you should sue the news corporation that released the screen name. They may as well have release his real name.

Any friend of yours is a friend of mine. I’m going to have to start reading his site now. THanks.

I think/know bill has addiditional information, but is concerned about putting it out here, thats why lawyers are so dispised.
I for one want to know the truth, who knew what, when, and why all the slow releases from the news, be specific!
I still hear people who think the E-Mails and IM’s are the same things and were realeased at the same time, they weren’t!
I want a free election based upon the issues not rumor and speculation.
