I think my blog is fried! I didn’t do anything to it, so I don’t know what’s going on. I have submitted a customer service ticket, and I’m waiting on a response. I’ll try to keep y’all updated, so you don’t worry. If I don’t get to say so later, Merry Christmas everybody.
*UPDATE* Well, I haven’t heard back from customer support, but I do get a different error page than the one I was getting when I originally posted this. I’m not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing, but we shall see.
Funny, FIAR and I had a discussion earlier about how good AN Hosting’s customer service was. We have spoken too soon.
*UPDATE 2* Okay, I have had some conversation with a tech support guy. He told me he corrected my account settings, and to try to reinstall Word Press. When I attempted to do that, between family Christmas functions, I got an error message saying that the Database wasn’t functioning properly. To be continued…
*UPDATE 3* I think the tech and I have had some communication problems. Basically, I’m stupid, and he’s talking to me like I’m smart. I let FIAR put an extra set of eyes on the e-mail conversation to help me determine exactly what it is the tech is asking me. FIAR gave me his interpretation, and I’ll give it a try. Keep your fingers crossed. Maybe Santa will be bringing a functioning blog for Christmas.
*UPDATE 4* It looks like the blog is working, but all of my customizations are gone. I have back ups, but for now, I’m not going to install them. I want to see if support can tell me what happened. I don’t want to upload the back ups and find that whatever caused the crash was in them.
*UPDATE 5* Tech support doesn’t know what exactly caused the crash and the guy believes the restoration could crash the blog again, so I guess I’ve lost all the stuff that’s been written to this point. I’ll be trying to recover as much as I can, so I doubt I’ll be posting much for a while.
