How Did We Lose the 2016 Olympics

Last week it seemed like the 2016 Chicago Olympics was a done deal. Of course there was that minor part about IOC voting but hey we got this right?

This is the new America. We have Barack f-ing Obama who apologized to the world for our evilness and now everyone loves us.

The Olympics in Chicago? It’s in the bag.

There is no way we could lose, especially with our sales pitch:

I’d buy a used car from that man. By the way, if things don’t work out with the President thing Obama could always get a job with a Government Motors dealership.

Liberals in Chicago even took time out of their busy day blogging in their parents’ basements to gather at Daley Square. To pass the time until the announcement the moonbats chanted a re-make of their classic mantra:

What do we want? The Olympics! When do we want it? 2016!

What’s that smell? The aroma of win! (We can’t yell victory because Obama says it’s bad to use the word when referring to something other than athletic competition. But it’s the Olympics. I’m confused.)

Then, like a Mike Tyson opponent during his prime it was over in the first round: Chicago was KO’ed. The toddlin’ town was out along with Madrid, much to the shock of CNN’s Tony Harris:

I hear you Tony. This is exactly how I felt back in the day shelling out $30 bucks to see a five-minute boxing match. Try not to cry in your arugula salad though. Salty tears do throw off the taste of the organic dressing after all.

So how could this happen? How could a slam dunk turn into a rimshot? Should we have included Michael Jordan on the Copenhagen Dream Team?

Of course there can only be one explanation:

Some Chicago officials say anti-American resentment likely played a role in Chicago’s Olympic bid dying in the first round Friday.

President Obama could not undo in one year the resentment against America that President Bush and others built up for years, they said.

Whew. They blamed Bush. I thought for sure they would pin it on racism.

Come to Chicago and get shot in a drive by, visit our crumbling housing projects, be mugged by a crack head, or just hang around on a street corner and have your head bashed in with a chunk of railroad tie.

Yeah, could have been the sales pitch.

    So what’s the downside, Les?

How could the Olympics compete with that?
