My Line in the Sand

Dean Esmay has issued a proclamation stifling free speech even further on his blog. This “Line in the Sand” states, among other things,

2) There is no 1,400 year old “war with the West/Christianity” being waged by Muslims or anyone else.

Uh, be sure to send a copy of the memo to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hamas, Hizbollah, Islamic Jihad, the Taliban, Al-Qaeda, etc. I’m pretty sure they missed the memo. I think you should also send a BCC to the Marines so that they can play whack a muj by listening for the sound of explosive laughter.

It’s caused quite the controversy. Frank J is disturbed. Misha says, “Enjoy your echo chamber.” His own wife is glad she’s not a contributor, or she would be out. Contributor Ron Coleman says Buh-Bye now. It’s odd that an Orthodox Jew might be troubled, isn’t it? Contributor Kevin Dombrowski is out too. Contributor Mary Madigan compares him to Maoists.

Keep on “Defending the liberal tradition in history, science, and philosophy,” there Dean. You’re doing a bangup job of instituting political correctness. Good luck with that echo chamber of yours.

Now, I have been thinking about this whole thing, and I realized that it was time to issue my own line in the sand concerning the contributors here. I know I have always said that I trust you to post whatever you see fit, but then again, Dean Esmay has repeatedly stated that premise as well.

Here it is by decree of Supreme Monger Overlord™ FIAR. (Click to embiggen)

So, hopefully now nothing “on this blog is going to make me ashamed as a human being.”

Isn’t the clamping down on free thought the hallmark of today’s socialistic-libtards?

I mean where do phrases like, “hate speech” and “hate crime” come from?

Who’s the first to play the, “race card” when the logic of their arguments hit raw reality?

Just noting how all this comes into play in one of the last bastions of libtard pollution, the college campus…

    Juandos,

As you know, the Left’s hallmark is “do as we say, not as we do”. In a post modern world, one finds it difficult to even talk with these people using traditional discourse. Conservatives live in a past time where debate consists of facts and evidence. Liberals live in the modern world where a sense of history, pragmatism, common sense, and ethical conduct are deemed outmoded and old fashioned.

So when we point out their hypocrisy they don’t see it because the post modern mind does not concern itself with logic and rationality. They have their own rules (that can change on a moment’s notice for reasons that suit their own immediate expedient needs) which only apply to their opponents and not to themselves.

For example, Clinton can bomb innocents from 30K feet in Kosovo without fear of criticism from the Left because it is a political tactic beneficial to him, as a Dem president. He can blow up an aspirin factory and this is also fine because it necessarily takes the attention away from his impeachment proceedings.

Here on the right we think that rule of law applies to the president (of either party) so the impeachment proceedings were critical for the health of the republic. Despite obvious evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors, the Left saw those proceedings as a “mean-spirited” attack on their guy and therefore ANY action taken by said president that derailed that process was morally positive.

Like I said, they live in a different world than us.
