Am I the only one that thinks the new Tool Album sounds like Lateralus remixed? I mean like they literally recycled the album by taking apart the songs and putting them back together. I’m becoming more and more convinced that’s exactly what they did, and that they did it just to see if they could get away with it.
Congratulations. You did. I heard it’s the #1 selling album right now.
Still, I really wish I could have got tickets to their show tonight. They sound outstanding live.
So who else thinks 10000 Days is Lateralus remixed?

I have heard that from a few people - and haven’t bought the album yet for that reason…

Dude, how can you say that? It’s a brand new sound for Tool! It’s full of really heavy riffs, has odd time signatures, and on a bunch of the songs Maynard’s vocals are quiet in the verses and loud in the choruses. A totally different vibe from anything else they’ve done!
I have to say, I do like it, though.

PS: I got an advance copy of the new Angels and Airwaves album - I guess it’s the new band from blink182’s singer. Not a fan.

I hope (and assume) you are being sarcastic. It is a great album, on its own, with no context, but if you’re familiar with Lateralus it loses it’s shine. Lateralus is a masterpiece, and to follow it up they just did a remix.
