Is the Ron Paul Revolution over yet?
Update: Ron Paul has officially ended his campaign, so the quips below about how donating to Ron Paul is a waste of money are now even more correct. Sorry for your luck Ronulans.
I really want to know if Ron Paul is still running for President. I thought Ron Paul was supposed to be our last, best hope for America and Freedom. I thought all those internet polls that were so not-gamed and entirely representative, showed how Ron Paul was voice of Alex Jones Knuckleheads America.
So, Ronulans, where’s the beef? It’s all fun and games to troll the internet and create phony support for a candidate, but you need to leave mom’s basement to cast the REAL votes. You know – out here in the real world – where you’re nothing but a socially inept loser who has never mated within your own species.
Oh, and your dog called. He didn’t enjoy that.
In the real world, Ron Paul simply hasn’t shown up. Not that it’s any surprise to those of us not infected with a brain eating bacteria.
Ronald Reagan won election on a vision of America as a shining city on the hill. Ron Paul continues to shame himself by running on a vision of a shiny 6 million dollar blimp in the sky. Sending money to Ron Paul is even more wasteful than burning it. At least burning money can keep you warm and let you roast a marshmallow.
Of course, when you have a roasted marshmallow for a brain, sending money to Ron Paul somehow makes perfect sense.
I hope Ron Paul is still in the race. We need something to keep it entertaining now, that perennial Presidential candidate and Travelocity spokesperson Dennis Kucinich has bailed from the race.
Watching Hillary Clinton attack Barack Obama for being black is just too predictable to be amusing.
Vive la Ron Paul Revolucion!

Some people say the the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting the result to be different. I submit that the writer of this article and any who agree with it are the same sheep that keep enabling the phony establishment politicians with their gradual destruction of the economy of the United States, and it’s image around the world.

Absolutely Bob. Because things are just awful here. Bread is unaffordable to the average person, and the triple digit inflation can put even the simplest of things out of reach between one day and the next. Most of the people in our country can’t even afford shoes on our feet, and if it were not for the charity of other nations, most children wouldn’t even get the most basic education that they get in their one room mud huts.
It’s time to fix the system. Vive la revolucion.

I am curious on a couple things. Who will Paul supporters vote for if he doesn’t win the nod and doesnt go 3rd party? They better not vote GOP or they truly have no vlaues. Next, what happens in the event he does lose? Will it be because of MSM bias? The voting system is rigged against only Paul?

some of us just still believe in the power of the constitution…
some of us favor less government and more rights…
some of us don’t want the federal government printing new money any time they have a new project they can’t afford, taking away the value of the american dollar…
some of us are tired of people feeling entitled to a free ride at all the working peoples’ expense…
THAT is why some of us believe in Ron Paul.

I have skul. I encourage you to do the same.
Here’s a Brief Overview for you:
He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.
He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.
Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.
I’m curious as to who’s getting YOUR vote this november…

Ummm… CC the point here is that he can stay within a budget, something nobody else can seem to manage.
Instead they pay no attention to the budget and just raise taxes or make more money. We’re taking money from future generations when we hand our kids a huge debt.
Politicians need to learn how say no and quit spending our tax money on projects we can’t afford.
Did you know that while we can’t seem to do a thing about our own border, Bush is sending 1.4 BILLION DOLLARS to Mexico to help them secure theirs?? It’s ridiculous.

Media cover such as these don’t do their own research before insulting intellectuals such as Ron Paul. What he speaks is the truth, based on facts. He has plans, that mathematically will work. Unlike other candidates, for example, to tax businesses and high income more, to give to the poor, is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Think of the logic of it. Poor people are poor because of how they think, nothing else.
Give a poor person a million dollars and in two years he’ll be 2 million dollars in debt.
Entitlement will solve nothing, it will make things worse.
Real capitalism however is how prosperity is spread. And that true capitalism will not exist until govt takes their hands out of the peoples pockets, and allow what we call “freedom” to truly be free.

What I find interesting is that nobody I have ever spoken to actually likes Clinton, Obama, or McCain and if they didn’t think it would be a huge waste of their vote many would probably vote for non of the above. So why if we live in a free democratic society are people that nobody seems to really like how are they running for president. Is it reall whoever makes the biggest noise. And many don’t even realize Ron Paul ever existed. Many keep mistaken him for Romney.

Amanda, it is as I said in an earlier post. Many people are just sheep who keep perpetuating the two parties establishment candidates. Only voting for the candidates the media tells them has a chance and thereby ensuring they are the only candidates that have a chance. Or even worse, voting for the candidate they think is going to win because they want to vote for the winning candidate. I will also reiterate my point that the U.S. economy is in gradual decline, Fiar’s exaggeration and sarcasm aside.

So calling someone “a socially inept loser who has never mated within your own species.” is a better start? Fiar, you article really shows just how naive your young and narrow mind is. I understand that you are bored and write uneducated thoughts that hold no meaning and are totally backwards to get a rise out of people. I know I will probably receive another one of your senseless and unprofound responses, but tell me, who do you seriously think will do a better job as the President, why, and can they really match the record of Dr. Ron Paul? Even John McCain was quoted as saying that Ron Paul was the most honest man in Washington. Go Ahead and review that overview that VV gave you and try and find someone to compare those records to. Do us all a favor and blog about something that you may have some real knowledge on, like interspecies erotica.

So calling someone “a socially inept loser who has never mated within your own species.” is a better start?
The difference is that I’m not delusional enough to think that I can persuade a Ronulan that Ron Paul won’t solve anything. You see, Ron Paul supporters NEED to persuade people, and hurling insults is counterproductive to that aim. Without persuading people to get in line to vote for Ron Paul, Ron Paul’s poll numbers will remain negligable, where they are.
I have no need to engage in a futile attempt to persuade irrational fundamentalists from the Cult of Ron Paul. So, I merely ridicule.
The difference is in the intended outcome, and it’s an essential difference. It means EVERYTHING whether you intend to persuade or not. That is what determines whether a strategy makes sense or not. Considering the importance of swaying voters to favor Ron Paul, the stupidest thing a Ronbot could do is insult someone for not worshiping the god Ron Paul.

haha fiar. you must not understand the constitution. it was written to keep the government from growing like it has. the constitution was influenced by thomas paine, if you know who that is.. the characteristics of a self governed soceity include love, freedom, non-coercion, local control, abundant creativity, optimism, strong families, personal responsibility, universal opportunity, and prosperity. the characteristics of a large goverened country include fear, control, force, centralized planning, stifled creativity, despair, breakdown of families, dependence, concentrated power, and poverty…. Our founding fathers knew that the greatest power lies within each individual, “we the people.” the government was built for one purpose, to defend our country, not start dictatorships in other countries. there is a philosphy behind the constitution, one of the greatest philosphies ever. if you give the power to the people, they will thrive. maybe you should read “common sense” by thomas paine written in 1775 before you criticize something you dont understand.

Sean, This is the sort of Ronulan moonbattery that causes me not to support Ron Paul. Philosophically, I don’t have much problem with the Ron Paul platform, aside from isolationism.
I am not a neo-conservative. Neoconservatives are socialists. Thus it is accurate to refer to Bush and McCain as Neoconservative. I am in favor of government staying out of our personal lives and out of business affairs. I favor free trade, up to and including internationally.
My problem with Ron Paul is the kookiness of it all.

Both the republicans and democrats are the same… neither party will address the 9,000,000,000,000 debt we are in. The basic principles of the Republic form of government are now the standards of the libetarian party. (Limited government) We are comming closer and closer to a democracy which will ultimatly lead to a Oligarchy as we have seen throughout history(Roman Empire). We live in a fascist economy which is owned by monopolies and destroying our free-market economy. So yes, the Republican’s have gone democratic, they are just two different views. They are both giving government handouts which excuses them of taxing us. They force us to owe them, which is a form of slavery. .. The term “Republic” has lost its meaning. Ron Paul and Bob Barr have been banned from the debates because they defend the very principles that made our country unique. Fox news is owned by the federal reserve, and they don’t want america to realize the downward spiral we are in.. The dollar has lost 95% of it’s value and is continuing to get worse due to inflation (Freddie Mac Fanny May). The fact is, it will take over 10 years to fix our economy even if it was going in the right direction. Neither canidate really understands the economy and the drastic changes need to be faced, so don’t expect any improvement to come from either republican’s or democrats.

I think it’s hilarious (in that sad, ironic way) that a mere 9 months after your comments from Jan 27th (which I had the pleasure of just discovering today) re: the fantastic state our country is in – that bread and grains became a luxury item for many, people are losing their homes right and left, some people are having to choose between feeding themselves or buying their beloved pets medicine (I can look for that article if necessary) and now, a 90 year old woman has tried to kill herself after facing foreclosure on her home of 38 years.
Yeah, the US is doing great, and it’s only going to get better!!! Thank God for foresight, honesty, insight, humility, intellectual curiousity, and a lack of smugness, eh? But hey, what do you need any of that for when you live in the undisputed GREATEST country in the whole WORLD – America. werd.

Thomas Paine
// Oct 25, 2008 at 4:39 pm
Man is NOT the enemy of man except through the medium of a false system of government.
-Thomas Paine
Most elitists believe they know more than everyone else, that they and their friends can plan everyone else’s lives better than most other people, that they can spend another person’s earned money better than that other person can and that anyone with money probably took advantage of someone to get it, that they can give the other person’s spare change to more worthy causes than the other person can and that they know more about those causes than them too. Their main practiced religion is one that basically says that they are universally better and more caring than everyone else and therefore supported by a majority of like minded people to be their enlightened leaders and examples of how to rightly live. They also will tell you what you should be purchasing with your spare money or credit to further their elitist and progressive agendas. I have no respect for these starbucks politicians and “activists” who proudly brandish the latest fad in armband or ribbon wear to show how much better they are than everyone else. They are the worst form of tyrant because they always sleep soundly thinking they are actually making the world a better place through their active oppression of individuals who perhaps are unorganized and in a definite minority – we the people who want to just be free of coercion by other people and the government.
I respect the person who says, wait a minute, I don’t have the perfect solution, but I’ll start by insisting that everyone leave me alone and me leaving you alone and helping to make sure everyone else leaves you alone but I support people acting freely on their own or in an organized manner without any form of coercion to help each other out the best that they can and are willing and able. I’ll let individuals figure out for themselves what makes them happiest, afterall they should know better than anyone else or be free to find that out as they discover their own enjoyment in this life. I’ll let them keep the property that others in society freely gave them for their services and/or goods that they traded. I’ll let them decide what they want to do with it with freedom and without coercion by me, others or the government. I’ll let individuals do what they want as long as they don’t interfere with the anyone else’s same and equal freedoms and natural human rights anywhere in the world. This includes polluting shared environmental resources, committing acts of war, murder, and ending or inhibiting the life of any other human being, fetus, baby, child, teen, adult, or elder. It won’t cost us anything either, because government only serves to protect human life and natural human rights so people can be free to pursue their own individually defined happiness. Sure people will need to work, serve and produce for one another, but I’ll let people determine what is best for them to do in a truly free economy – natural human exhanges and I’ll make sure society and the government assists with defending people from fraud. I’ll let people be self responsible and figure out on their own how to be responsible to their neighbors and their own family. If people want to gamble, do drugs, fine, but they will be solely responsible for the results. They can turn to doctors, charity and churches, their families, neighbors and friends for help when this causes them harm but the government won’t take from other people to enable them and the government will punish them when they cause harm or violate the rights of any other person in the process of abusing their bodies.
Someone who says and actually backs up this view in action, legislative decisions and in their writing without pandering to any special interest to alter these basic principles is who should be the leader of our country and is the person most representative of my views. That person for me is Doctor Ron Paul.
Yeah… your probably right, giving money to people like that probably is a waste of time, there are far too many self-serving elitists who want to control everyone else’s life to find this a worthwhile investment. But I remain hopeful that one day the welfare state and world dominating empire will go bankrupt and have to restart from basic principles… it may happen sooner than we think. More than likely much harm will come during this dragon’s death throes… but in the end freedom is always popular and always overturns elitist tyrants. Unfortunately for them history often shows that violence is necessary… one can hope that a system of government with a medium of free and open debate and discussion, sharing of all views and concerns – issues, grievances… and free and open elections that are unrestricted by floating signifier parties and their mottos can do this painlessly and with little suffering… but I think atleast for the 2008 presidential election all hope for that was lost – by design a year or perhaps 4 prior.
So you’ll see me and my compatriots who seek your and our freedom in the modern day labor camps.
You’ll probably be real proud of your poster child for elitism that one of the major parties and all of the media helped to propagandize into elected office. Realize your ignorant bliss is painful to us, we want nothing but good for you, your family and ours and everyone elses. we only want mutual freedom, and mutually agreeable human interactions. We might enjoy some bitching over our bad tasting coffee about how much we work, pay for taxes, how much everything costs and how we’ll never be able to retire, and when we do how we’ll have to make ourselves destitute and our children and grandchildren without any inheritance to get some half way decent personal care paid for by what we have already given the government – but know in our heart that the money won’t be there without enslaving our grandchildren with debt and taxes. So when we can’t roll out of our diaper on our own anymore and we are delerious with anger because were a burden on the world and our family with nothing to give but a memory and some google archived blog we hope our children and grandchildren understand and forgive us. They’ll probably bitch about how much the co-payment for our doctor visits has risen and how much their own prescription prozac costs and how much vacation time they can’t take to keep ends met at home and for our continued care.
Now that is centrally planned freedom! Do you really want it?
See you around my fellow wage earner, or perhaps we’ll meet in the government run nursing home looking back on how close we might have been to making things different this past year with regret. Hopefully we will have learned some spanish by then, because more than likely that is what the cheapest labor (certified nurse assistants) yelling at us to help them roll us over to wipe our asses will be speaking as their first language. We’ll probably recognize how they’ll be saying how sick and tired they are of cleaning up all of our s#it for a ridiculously worthless Federal Reserve Note or Credit… speaking both literally and figuratively.

Dear writer of this lame article,
You must really feel like a tough guy huh? Calling Ron Paul an idiot and all… because I’m not sure if you’re aware but, the man is a licensed medical Doctor as well as a member of congress. And what are you? some internet punk who wastes his time to slander a candidate whose too intellectual for you to understand. I myself am politically active in support of Ron Paul’s beliefs and about to attend medical school. Ron Paul is a man we can all admire and learn from. A man who is passionate, honest, and humble. Far from what you’ve portrayed yourself as in this childish article which is nothing more than the ranting of ignorance. It seems to me you are a miserable man who is only trying to make himself feel better by putting down Ron Paul and his supporters. I pity people like you who have not honor nor courage in life.

“Absolutely Bob.
Vive la revolucion.”

Oh, that you are too big an idiot to realize that Ron Paul WAS RIGHT??!! He SAID the economy/ dollar would fall apart. And he was just about THE ONLY ONE!!! Take a look around YOU!!! See what’s going on in ICELAND? Guess what? That’s because they are tied to the same bankers that are screwing up America! You know, the people who control the “FEDERAL RESERVE”? Same with New Zealand. And England(etc, etc, etc…) What now dumbA$$?

Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate that stood a chance and who also PREDICTED the current global financial crisis. He’s also the only one who has a viable solution. It’s just a shame his campaign was sabotaged by the mainstream media, and the sheep that mindlessly followed the MSM.
By the way “Fiar”, the REVOLUTION isn’t over by a LONG-SHOT… It is JUST BEGINNING! RESTORE THE REPUBLIC!

you people are still funny, especially when your angry. its hilarious to see a whole bunch of intelligent people reduce themselves to gobbling animals (elephants and donkeys maybe?)
Personally I like Ron Paul better than any other canidate, partly because he is conservative and refers to abortionists as murderers while other canidates avoid the topic, but mostly because he is so badass it’s insane. The fact that a mental patient can become a serious canidate in any election, much less the election for president, either says somthing about him, or the state of mentallity that America has been reduced to.
so either he’s a substantial canidate and deserves it, or were all crazy anyways so what does it matter? viva la rLOVEution!!!

Perhaps when your finished being childish and resorting to ad hominem attacks since you have no idea what Ron Paul stands for, let alone the knowledge to refute his positions, you can read a book about economics or study American history.
Republicans: I have this from your own heritage.org, of the last eight presidents (W, Clinton, Bush 1, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon, Johnson) every one of them has raised spending. Guess who raised it the most? Reagan at 38%. Guess who raised it the least? Clinton at 18%. W is in a three way tie at 25%.
Voting for the same pseudo-conservatives like John McCain, who’s idea of decreasing the size of government is eliminating the $18 billion in earmarks which make up less than 1% of the budget, you will continue to be disappointed. Our Consitutional liberties are being eroded, government is expanding with no apparent recourse and the fools in Washington continue to spend money we don’t have and propose government solutions to the problems they caused in the first place.
