(That should yield some interesting searh engine results.) BTW, there were no pirates there.
As you may already know, I had the pleasure of meeting Steve (not a pirate), his brother Joecool, and Wyatt Earp this weekend. For obvious and logical reasons, Joe decided to buy a car that was clear across the country. I know that’s pretty standard for most of us. The best thing about it is that it affords the opportunity to meet people you wouldn’t otherwise meet.
Wyatt had a great recap, so I’ll take a different angle.
Driving in took a while. 2 lanes into the city and 2 lanes out of the city. JimmyB would hate it. (All thumbnails: Click to Embiggen)

Average speed while driving on the 2 lanes into the city.
Awesome! Now we’re really moving. I hope I don’t get picked up for speeding on the interstate.

D’oh! I knew it wouldn’t last.
Anyhoo. I finally got there after about 2 1/2 hours. For reference, it took 45 minutes to get home on the 2 lanes out of the city. JimmyB would hate it. Oh yeah, I already mentioned that.
I did finally get there. Now I know why people in the Pacific Northwest think that there’s a Sasquatch roaming around. I assure you folks, Steve is totaly human.
Wyatt and Steve and Joe were all really cool people, and I had a great time. At one point I had tears streaming from my eyes from laughing so hard.
I’m sure that anyday soon, I will be purchasing a car from clear across the country, as most ordinary folk do, and I pay a return visit… Or not.
Oh, yes. Beautiful weather. It was so humid that you could see the humidity. Yuck!
Update: Steve has his version of events up now, with a picture.

[...] I mean, these are people you talk to almost everyday - be it through comments or posts - and many of you have even had the opportunity to meet each other - FIAR, Sssteve, and Wyatt. But are they “friends” in the traditional sense of the word, or are they simply like the guy that you see everyday at the coffee shop and share a quick “Howdy” with? [...]
