I just found out via Insolublog, that Drudge reports “Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist died Saturday evening at his home in suburban Virginia.” Take a look at the Drudge article. It’s very well written.
Clearly, with not only two vacancies in the Scotus, but a new Chief justice to be named, there is about to be some major political battles ahead. Hopefully there will be a reasonable period of time to honor the loss of a great Supreme Court justice, before the politicking begins.
My condolences to the family.
