Pastor Rick Warren interviewed Presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain at the Saddleback Church Saturday night as part of the two hour forum on faith. Due to time constraints, or possibly an oversight, my interview was not broadcast.
Certainly this is unfair to the potential voters of my own run for the Presidency.
Rick Warren asked President Obama the questions and it sounded something like: Blah, blah, blah. The answer to that question is above my pay grade. Blah, blah. Can someone please help me get this bucket off of my head.
McCain’s responses to the questions were something like: Long ago and far away in a place called VietNam, I was a prisoner, so if you don’t stop asking me these stupid questions, I’m going to rip off your head and sh*t down your neck.
In order to allow my political humor followers and Humor-Blogs.com readers to better understand my position on the issues, I have responded to each of the questions posed by Rick Warren to Senators Obama and McCain. Moderator Rick Warren was nearly as painfully long-winded in asking his questions as Obama and McCain were in answering them, so in the interest of brevity, most questions have been summarized.
Leadership - Who are the three wisest people you know that you would rely on in an administration?
Ghengis Khan, Atilla the Hun, and Lucifer.
Character - What’s been your greatest moral failure and what is the greatest moral failure of America?
In both cases I would have to say it’s the fact that we still have not waged a proper war for oil.
Bipartisianship - Can you give me an example of where you went against the interests of your party’s interests and even your own self interests for the good of America?
One time I was at a party and I punched the host when I found out his wife was a dirty hippie. I got kicked out of the party, but it was my patriotic duty to do so, and I stand by it to this day.
Flip Flopping - What’s the most significant position that you held 10 years ago that you don’t hold today?
I used to believe that no one was perfect, and that sometimes even great people make mistakes, but now I understand that I am always right. There’s an exception to every rule, and I am that exception.
Leadership - What was the most gut wrenching decision you ever had to make and what was the process by which you made it?
Well, one time I was all set to beat the stupid out of a dirty hippie, but as I approached, the smell was ungodly. I decided to move on and just let the hippie be. It was a very tough decision to make, as it goes against every one of my own core principles of beating hippies, but the smell was just gut wrenching.
What does faith mean to you and how does it apply to your life?
Faith is a belief in something that there is not even one shred of evidence to support that belief, like man made global warming, or that Russia will adhere to the cease fire agreement. Faith is for the weak minded. I believe in results, so I would have to say that faith does not poison my life.
Abortion - At what point is a baby entitled to human rights?
There’s way too much of an entitlement mentality pervading this country, and it starts with things like this. First we’re giving babies human rights, next thing you know, were giving free health care from the cradle to the grave. We need to end this entitlement mentality.
Babies get human rights when they grow up to be adults. I know it’s an unpopular position, but they’re just too delicious. Regarding abortion, Liberals are significantly more likely to have an abortion than Conservatives are. Also, children are much more likely to grow up to be like their parents than to hold views opposed to those of their parents, which is why I fully support the right of Liberals to systematically eradicate themselves from the gene pool.
Define marriage.
Marriage is the state, condition, or relationship of being married; wedlock. That’s the problem with definitions. They’re really just verbal circle jerks that aren’t really helpful.
Stem Cells - With the success of some research using adult stem cells, should we continue to fund research that uses embryonic stem cells.
No. We should only use the stem cells of dirty hippies. In my administration I will propose that we beat the stem cells out of every last dirty hippie in America and find cures to debilitating diseases like Parkinson’s and Liberalism.
Does evil exist, and if it does, do we ignore it, negotiate with it, contain it, or defeat it?
Yes, evil does exist in the world. To answer the second part, when you see evil in the world, I suggest taking notes. You don’t want to be accused of being a poor imitation of one of your mentors, but it’s always good to learn a few new tricks.
Which existing Supreme Court Justice would you not have nominated?
I would not have nominated any of them. In fact, I plan to do away with the judicial branch entirely. There’s something about that whole separation of powers thing that just doesn’t sit well with my plans to take over the Universe.
Faith based organizations - Should faith based organizations be forced to hire non-believers in order to receive Federal Funding?
I don’t think they should be getting Federal funding. Let them raise their own money, and hire whomever the Hell they want. Everyone wants a piece of the government pie, and that’s part of the problem.
Education - Do you think better teachers should be paid better?
Yes. The fact that such a stupid question could even be asked is a sign of how abysmal the public school system is. Rewarding achievement shouldn’t be a difficult concept to grasp.
Taxes - This is a real simple question. Define rich. Give me a number.
I object to the premise of the question. The entire question is based on the idea that a person is entitled to a “fair share” and anything beyond that arbitrary quantity is unnecessary. Wealthy, successful people are wealthy and successful because of the risk, effort, ingenuity, and perseverance they put forth. Their wealth is the fruits of that labor, and is also the motivation for achieving it.
I’m not saying that poor people don’t work hard, or even struggle to make ends meet, but they do not contribute as much to the overall pie of society as the wealthy do. That is why I believe we should tax the poor. I propose a flat tax of $20,000 per year. The poor will be punished for their lack of ingenuity, and the rich will pay off the tax and be free and clear to get as rich as they like. People in all levels of society will have the drive to reach greater heights and all of society will benefit.
Is there anything worth dying for? What is worth sacrificing American lives?
That depends. As long as I’m not the one doing the dying, I’m pretty much open to suggestions.
Orphans - Would you support an emergency plan to deal with the 148 million orphans worldwide.
Definitely. Orphans tend to be tough and stringy, but we could still wipe out world hunger with my plan.
What would you do to end religious persecution?
There’s really nothing you can do to stop stupid people from thinking that people with the “wrong” mythological belief should die for believing in the “wrong” god, so I think we should just nuke the biggest problem areas to minimize the persecution.
The third largest and fastest growing industry is human trafficking. What would you do to deal with the human trafficking problem?
Well, this is a tough one. We need better infrastructure and I am committed to provided the necessary funding for wider highways, and more modern roadways. I am also in favor of raising the speed limit. This will make traffic flow much faster.
Tell me in a minute why you want to be President.
I have as much Presidential experience as my opponents, and history shows that experience at being President isn’t actually a benefit anyway. I want to be President because power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. I will work hard to make my power absolute.
What do you say to people that oppose me asking you these questions?
Stop being such a pussy.
What would you tell the American people if you knew there wouldn’t be any repercussions?
I’m not going to be a very good President, but you should vote for me as the lesser of 3 evils. The fact still remains, I’m better than your other options, because they really suck.
Do you have any other questions you would like me to answer?

Excuse me for asking this, but I believe the American public MIGHT
have been duped by Pastor Rick, who looks silly in that goatee of his,
and he could lose some weight too……but what I am talking about is
this: you didn’t mention it and nobody else, but I have a very strong
suspicion that the questions that Pastor Rick asked the two candidates
were GIVEN to both Obama and McCain in advance of the
“show”……..why do I suspect this? because at one point Obama said
“I cheated here and did some research before hand…..I actually
looked at this idea ahead of time….”
he said this in response at first to one of Rick’s question around the
45 minute time….
and CNN made a major gaffe: on the news scrawl below the screen, the
news editor who is obviosuly illiterate wrote for all the world to see
on CNN: “What is the greatest moral failure in your LIVE?
shoulda been LIFE? it was never corrected during Obama’s half……way
to go, CNN!
but the main questuon here, sir, is WHERE THE QUESTIONS GIVEN TO THE
TWO MEN BEFORE THE SO CALLED FORUM? I believe they were. I am going to
ask Rick right now and see what he says….
when Rick also said “we are the most blessed nation on earth”…again
he is so full of it. Other nations are also blessed, sir Rick,
American is not NUMBER ONE in BLESSEDness, this is a huge mistkae of
arrogant overweight ammericans like Pastor Rick, who is a brainwashed
mindcontrolled robot of an ancient religion that is completely based
on myth and legend, there is NO JESUS at all, and yet he gets away
with this crap…..sad in this day and age..but that’s America for
you, LIVE!

What’s sad, oh fellow traveler, is your hate for America. Go back to were you came from, Commierad Bloomski. If you hurry, I think you can still catch the convoy out of Georgia.

As a follow-up to your comments on the Supreme Court - given they proved themselves to be bumbling idiots when they crowned King George W in 2000,
Would you commit to having the CIA either banish them to the Iraqi desert without water (except waterboarding) shade & air conditioning
or
Would you just send Tony Soprano to ‘resolve’ the matter (out-sourcing is popular with the conservatives, I’m told)?
And in future debates/discussions, would you require a moderator who is at least moderately attractive and not a big fat load? Puleezze!

It’s become rather easy to see where you’re standing there too, Augusto. Once Fiar is dictator, errr, I mean President, you’ll be tracked down and then you and all of you’re politically incorrect thinking friends will find out what ANWAR looks like in the winter. Coal mines for your lot? Noooo. Oil rigs, my friend.
I did good Fiar? Didn’t I? Les did good? Good Les. Good.

Les James,
It’s not America I hate. It’s superstitious illogical religious nuts that i dislike for their mindcontrolled brainwashed rabblings. There is no God, and certainly America is NOT the most blessed country in the world. Travel a bit, as I have, LJ, and you will see. America is a good country, yes, with many good people, yet, but with a lot of stupid people, too, still living in the Dark Ages of humanity, believing in a make believe messiah and all that crap. Come on, wake up already. Not that expect America to wake up, but hey, first answer my questions above: DID PAstor Rick, God believing honest man who does not believe in lying, did he give the questions to both men beforehand? EVeryone I talked to today says YES HE DID. is that a very honest thing to do? to try to fool the American public that way? U see, LJ, THAT is what is wrong with America, fat goateed hypocrites like Rick, who believse only his kind will be saved. What BS. EVen rick won;’t be saved, because there is no SAVER, savior, JEsus is a complete myth. But you wouldn’t want to know that….

Danny boy, why are you wasting time on me? Shouldn’t you be out burning bibles or protesting the Pledge of Allegiance something?
If America isn’t the most blessed country, which one is and by whom or what? Seems to be a flaw in you reasoning.
BTW you picked the wrong person to suggest that they travel. I’ve lived all across this God blessed country. I’ve lived in Europe and Asia and traveled to several remote locations around the globe.
I speak three languages, bit and pieces of a few more and can read several others to an extent. I know the cultures of these places because I took the time to get to know the locals unlike most Americans. I also have a liberal college education. And grew up in California in the 60’s and 70’s.
I hope this puts and end to your insinuation that I am “one of those”.
I’ve seen the good and bad on this planet and I still content you’d be happier working the people’s fields around Moscow or cutting cane outside of Havana. I’m pretty sure there are no gods allowed in either place.
Oh and one more thing, I have friends that don’t belive in God either, but they’re not bigoted about it.
Damn I love Sundays! This is the most fun I’ve had all week. So, thanks Danny! Please come back anytime so we can do this again. Really.

Mr. Bloom - get a clue - no politician or celebrity goes on any such “interview” program unless their staff has had some discussion with the moderator, director and producer about the nature of the questions. Some even prohibit asking particular specific questions.
I say you, sir, are incredibly naive if you think the questions are all unscripted. Perhaps some “follow-up” questions are spontaneous but certainly none others are.
Sorry to burst your bubble.

Rick never told the audience in the room or on live TV that he had given the questions to the two men. That is NOT a forum. That is all I wanted to find out. Now I know the truth, and you don’t care. McCain’s comfort and ability to hear under the cone of silence. McCain laughed and answered he had his ear to the wall.. I believe Warren knew McCain had not been under the cone or even in the building when he asked McCain the question.
McCain asked “Can we get back to the question of the appointment of supreme court justices?” The question of appointments came five minutes later. Hmmm — how did McCain know that question was coming?

What I want to know is…
why has it been so accepted that a national forum meant to appeal to one narrow group with a social agenda, a group that should have NOTHING to do with politics in the first place - a religious group - was given credence by presidential candidates by agreeing to it?
Should there be a nationally televised forum be arranged to answer strictly to gun owners? How about gay people? How about animal rights activists?
There’d be an outcry. yet the evangelicals are still honing in on the political process when in fact they should be being pushed out.
And I’m a minister’s kid, but can we please get back to keeping Church and State separate! And presidential candidates should not be goaded into performing for such narrow groups.

Here’s how it went: Warren invited both candidates to come and talk with him.
Each candidate received one hour with Warren where he asked them some interview questions. It sounded like he (Warren) provided the questions to the candidates before hand.
(Obama commented that he “cheated” and researched one of the questions Warren posed to him, so that is where I’m getting that assumption.)

Election GuideMore Politics NewsThe McCain campaign, which flew here Sunday from California, said Mr. McCain was in his motorcade on the way to the church as Mr. Obama was being interviewed by the Rev. Rick Warren.
The matter is of interest because Mr. McCain, who followed Mr. Obama’s hourlong appearance in the forum, was asked virtually the same questions as Mr. Obama. Mr. McCain’s performance was well received, raising speculation among some viewers, especially supporters of Mr. Obama, that he was not as isolated during the Obama interview as Mr. Warren implied.
Mr. Warren, pastor of Saddleback, had assured the audience while he was interviewing Mr. Obama that “we have safely placed Senator McCain in a cone of silence” and that he could not hear the questions.
After Mr. Obama’s interview, he was joined briefly by Mr. McCain and the candidates shook hands and embraced.
Mr. Warren started by asking him, “Now, my first question: Was the cone of silence comfortable that you were in just now?”
Mr. McCain deadpanned, “I was trying to hear through the wall.”
Interviewed Sunday on CNN, Mr. Warren seemed surprised to learn that Mr. McCain was not in the building during the Obama interview. A spokeswoman for Mr. McCain said he was en route to the church.”

Thank you for your inquiry about the Saddleback Civil Forum on the
Presidency and the metaphorical use of the term “cone of silence.”
There were several parameters and agreements regarding the ground rules
for conducting the Civil Forum, one of which was the agreement between
Pastor Warren and the campaign teams that they would honor the request
to neither listen or watch whomever went first so as to keep a level
playing field. This was established at the onset of scheduling the
event.
Once it was determined that Senator Obama would go first in the program
– which was two consecutive conversations with the presumed
presidential nominees, Senator McCain’s team agreed that they would not
listen to Senator Obama’s session with Pastor Warren. On the evening of
the event, we are assured by Senator McCain’s staff that while he was in
the motorcade that there was no audio feed into his automobile, and once
he arrived on campus, he was in a separate room outside of the
auditorium which did not have audio or video feed, as well.
Please continue to watch the coverage and analysis of this important and
historic event. Thank you so much for your opinions and for being a part
of the process and privilege of being able to vote and elect the next
President of the United States of America.

These false accusations of cheating by the Obama camp just shows what a lack of character these sore losers have. Obama has been getting a free pass from the beginning of the primaries. Obama looked like the rank inexperienced amateur that he is in the Saddleback debate … while McCain looked decisive and competent. The election is only about 70 days from now, and if Obama hasn’t already come up with positions on these crucial questions by now, he is certainly not qualified to be President of the United States. Crying and accusations of cheating because Obama lost the debate, only makes Obama look smaller and less deserving of the office.

Candidates Got Advance Look at Questions
the WASHINGTON POST says;\
Spokesman for Minister Says McCain, Obama Were Told of Some Topics
By Perry Bacon Jr. and Michael D. Shear
Washington Post Staff Writers
Tuesday, August 19
Responding to questions about whether Sen. John McCain had an unfair advantage over Sen. Barack Obama at Saturday’s forum on faith in California, a spokesman for the Rev. Rick Warren said both candidates had an advance look at a few questions.
Spokesman A. Larry Ross said the candidates had agreed that McCain would not listen to Obama’s interview, which came first by a coin-flip agreement. But Ross said Warren gave them both a sense of what to expect.
Warren provided McCain and Obama with the four subject areas, Ross said — leadership, stewardship, worldview and international compassion — and provided them a sense of the themes he would ask about, including topics such as energy and taxes.
He also offered three examples of questions he planned to ask: What is your greatest moral failure? What is America’s greatest moral failure? Who are the three people you rely on for wise advice?
“He wanted to give them an idea of where he wanted to go with this,” Ross said in an interview.

How many “dannys” can this site take?
Augusto was right, there was no chance for them to show without knowing in advance the questions, but Rick Warren admitted that he gave Obama one question more than he gave McCain. I think that we can all agree that Obama is a moron and so are all of his backers. No debate on that, right?
Fitch, that 20k tax idea would have worked for me really well until this year, when I have been able to manipulate my income to the point of being eligible for Earned Income Tax Credit. Let’s hold off on that until we see which of these two morons gets elected, then maybe I will ramp the earnings back up to last year’s level.
