Frost Advisory? But it’s May 18th

The calendar may say we are only a month away from the official start of Summer but the National Weather service’s frost warnings say otherwise:

“URGENT – WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW YORK NY
1138 AM EDT MON MAY 18 2009

…FREEZING TEMPERATURES EXPECTED OVERNIGHT ACROSS ORANGE…PUTNAM…NORTHERN FAIRFIELD…AND WESTERN PASSAIC COUNTIES…AREAS OF FROST EXPECTED OVERNIGHT ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF INTERIOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT AND THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY…AND AREAS IN AND AROUND THE PINE BARRENS OF LONG ISLAND…“

There were warnings or advisories for fifteen states in total Monday, including Ohio and Maryland. Clearly, the global warming is not cooperating with the hack scientists’ predictions.

Obama needs to get on that one pronto.

Oh there was also one more warning:

“URGENT – WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MORRISTOWN TN
922 PM EDT MON MAY 18 2009

POTTED PLANTS NORMALLY LEFT OUTDOORS SHOULD BE
COVERED OR BROUGHT INSIDE AWAY FROM THE COLD.”

I hope someone brought in Al Gore last night.

Flourishing Eagles Feast on Maine’s Rare Seabirds

Shhh don’t tell the environmental whackos:

“Bald eagles, bouncing back after years of decline, are swaggering forth with an appetite for great cormorant chicks that threatens to wipe out that bird population in the United States.“

Irony is so delicious isn’t it? So are cormorants it seems. Anyone have any good recipes?

Of course there is the double standard:

“Nobody’s raising a stink about the eagles’ taste for double-breasted cormorants and gulls because those birds are so numerous and considered nuisances by many.”

But when a smaller-sized species is on a predator’s dinner menu it is different. We have to “save” nature from…ummm…itself?

Prince Charles Gets a Coveted Lefty Award

No moonbat’s trophy case would be complete without an award in horticulture:

“Prince Charles, an avid gardener and environmentalist, has received Britain’s top gardening award from his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.“

So the Prince got Mommy’s Little Gardener Award. How cute.

I know I know, how dare I make fun of flowers. Look at how much fun they are…
