RL Report: Manchester NH Taxpayer Tea Party

It was a fun evening in Victory Park in Manchester, New Hampshire Wednesday as hundreds turned out in one of two Tax Day rallies in the state.

Tea bags anyone?

Thomas Paine was there with the “Live Free or Die” flag. If there is a time we could use him it is now. This country needs it’s common sense back.

The people in Congress keep telling us higher taxes help the children. This family knows otherwise.

Interesting take on things.

Bruce (pictured above) from No Looking Backwards had the best quote of the day:

“Wake Up!

People shouldn’t be watching Good Morning America they should be watching Wake Up America”.

Some more great signs…

In one of the pictures I took I noticed something…

This guy is practicing Open Carry. Were the cops worried? Did they tail the guy? Nope. Just another law-abiding citizen exercising his right to openly carry a weapon in a responsible manner.

Despite what the liberal moonbats say there is nothing wrong with that.

So is this the beginning of a movement to take back our government which is an entity for the people by the people? One can only hope but in the end it is up to us. We have to take the ball and run with it.

We are right-wing radicals after all right?

It looks as if that rally had an excellent turn out. I hope at least a few of the people in Congress have taken notice.

Me? A radical? I don’t know about that.

Now where are my tar and feathers? Oh, here they are right by my Bible and shotgun.

Naw, he had his hands over his ears. Just like Alfred E Newman, Obama pulled a What Tea Parties? and pretended he did not know.

    He’ d better start worrying!

Since no one else has done it yet, I will:

These are not the tea parties you’re looking for.

Does anyone have the address to my local radical right-wing militia recruiting station? Seems like I fit the DHS profile rather well.

    I wonder what it pays?

I guess profiling’s only wrong when it involves a protected class. There’s no protection for Bible-thumping, gun owning, patriotic veterans. The Obama administration declared open season on us a couple of days ago.

Bunch of pussies. I got somethin’ for ‘em. Here kitty, kitty, kitty.

Yeah Elm there were about 400-600 people there which is pretty amazing seeing that most conservatives have to work in the dreaded private sector making a 5:30 rally tough to go too. I didn’t get there myself until like 6.

I hope they will finally listen after yesterday but even if they do we can’t give up. One of the speakers at the rally spoke about how us as citizens need to keep a vigil on our leaders and question what they do. I think he was a State senator or one of the mayors of a local city.

One thing I didn’t notice until now. In the picture with the Congressional Credit Card the first digits of the card number comprise the date of the Boston Tea Party.

“there were about 400-600 people there”

Better triple that. At least. My best guess is 1500-2000 at its peak.

Nashua Telegraph is reporting about 1,000 so we were both wrong Wolf. :(

The good thing is it does not matter who is right about how many people were there.

The point is we were there and there were enough of us to get the ball rolling. The issue now is what to do going forward.

We have to pay attention and watch what our elected officials do and voice our opinion more often. A good place to start is to go to Congress.org and sign up for the MegaVote.

It is a weekly email that updates you on how your Reps and Senators voted on the past week’s legislation as well as what’s coming up for votes in the next week.

This is why our political leaders burden us with so many laws and regulations. It keeps us so busy we do not have time to keep track of what they are doing.

    MegaVote helps in this regard.

The one thing it does not do however is keep us informed of what our local leaders do.

Overall though, we have to make the time to pay attention or it is our money, our freedom, our rights that will be taken, not theirs.

That’s cool, I’ve been reading this blog since last July and I was at the Manchester Rally too. Didn’t notice skirt boy had a gun though…too many funny signs to read I guess.

I was pleased with how the local police supervised the tea party. The two officers (that I saw) were calmly walking around making sure that no one got hurt. I even say them talking and laughing with some of the rally goers. Hats off to the Manchester Police Dept. for a splendid job well done.

I did enjoy how they seemed perfectly at ease with this gathering of terrorists… I mean group of individuals that cause man made disasters. Is that what we’re supposed to call them these days? I don’t want to be politically incorrect or hurt their feelings.

Anywho, what a great way to jump start a revolution!

Overall, I have a tentative count of over 500,000 who attended the tea parties. I still have some research to validate these numbers…

500,000 Americans doing ANYTHING together is impressive.

Like I said yesterday, listening to media reports about the number of people attending the tea parties is like listening to a woman tell you how many men she has slept with, you have to multiply by like four, or something.

Go look at the photos in Bruce’s post on the rally, Chris. Especially the last one. That’s more than a thousand people. I’m pretty sure the Telegraph’s estimate is significantly on the low side.

@Bruce: And the liberals think they are the beautiful people? We showed them.

@ica: Did you have a sign? If so I might have a pic of it.

@Hez: I agree. The police did a great job at the tea party. I wish people who think cops are anti-citizen could have been there to see for themselves how wrong they are.

Still, it would have been nice if a moonbat infiltrated the rally and had to be tazed.

@Attendance numbers: 1,000 or 2,000, it still sends the same message: stop the runaway spending or we will vote you out of office.

250k overall, as Michelle Malkin cited in her NY Post column Thursday or 500k as TJ has figured out via his research.

    Same message.

The people who attended the tea parties are also those more likely to vote in non-Presidential election years and be more active in the political system.

Do not think for a moment that the Pols have not taken notice. They have and by their comments this week they are scared.

We don’t need to justify numbers to the media to tell our political leaders it is game on as far as their job performance is concerned.

We can let them know in the voting booth and with emails and letters.

I didn’t realize radical extremists behaved and didn’t run around breaking things and throwing stuff at people who disagreed with them. I didn’t realize I was such a rebel threat. Oh, that’s right, I’ve been perfecting my extremist ways by being busy working and being responsible.
