RL Political Humor Quick Hits 11

This week’s Political Humor Quick Hits is about China, Cheney, and cars…
Yu Yongding, a senior researcher at the government-backed Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and a former central bank adviser wasn’t buying Tim Geithner’s smooth economic wordspeak in Bejing Monday:
“It will be helpful if Geithner can show us some arithmetic,” he said.
Great, now China, our loan shark wants to look at the books. I just hope our Treasury Secretary doesn’t come back home with a broken thumb. It is tough to operate a printing press with a cast.

No Tim, China won’t fall for the old Freddy “Boom Boom” Washington defense like our Congress did.
Cheney Clarifies Gay Marriage and Porn Comments
At a National Press Club Speech Monday:
Former Vice President Dick Cheney said Monday he supports gays being able to marry but believes states, not the federal government, should make the decision.
Later Cheney added that he also supports gay marriage with the stipulation that he gets to waterboard them.
Or watersports, I wasn’t really clear on that.

From the Wall Street Journal:
GM to Announce Tentative Hummer Sale
Speaking of Crappy Cars
Is this what we can look forward to when it comes to future GM offerings?
A car traveling on a motorway in Switzerland lost all four wheels simultaneously, coming to an immediate halt in the middle of the highway, police said on Saturday.
While this does save gas I don’t think it is what Obama has in mind for green automobiles. Or maybe it is.
