We’re NOT Losing You Morons!

Fitch is always RightOK, Now I’ve snapped. I was reading a post at Point Five, that’s right - a satire site, and some humorless jerk takes offense to the post, and seizes the opportunity to drag out the old crap about how some pansy politician named Murtha is above reproach because he served in Vietnam, and Bush didn’t. So what.

Maybe we shouldn’t have supplied Saddam with weapons thinking that the enemy of my enemy is my friend. We didn’t want Iran to expand it’s power. It seemed like it was a good idea at the time, but maybe it wasn’t. Maybe we shouldn’t have had policies to maintain a “balance of power” in the Middlle East, but it’s what we did. Sometimes people, or nations learn from their mistakes. Aiding one tyrant to keep another tyrant from getting more powerful is a pretty stupid idea, but that was the foreign policy of the past, intelligent or not.

We’ve gotten rid of a dictator that has demonstrated the willingness to use chemical weapons on his own people. We’ve eliminated a tyrant that has proven the desire to invade neighboring countries. The world is better off. Go ahead rehash the same old tired arguments about no WMD’s. Just ignore the 14 month Circle jerk of diplomatic masturbation that we engaged in at the useless UN prior to invasion.

“Hey, Fitch we’re going to sit out here and wack off for a year or so. I hope you don’t have anything your not supposed to have when we come in.” Saddam’s not stupid. Insane - yes - but not stupid. So I’m sure it was a complete surprise that WMD’s were hard to come by once we invaded.

Also, I’m sick to death of hearing about how awful things are going in Iraq. When was the last war that there were so few casualties in such a long amount of time? Care to tell me? When was there a more lopsided effort where the winning side was depicted as failing miserably? Who has more troops? We do. Who’s dying faster? They are. But no, Iraq is a failure, and “Bush’s War”" is bogged down in a swampy quagmire, just like Vietnam. (Which by the way had way more casualties)

We’re winning. It’s time the traitorous communists, who refer to themselves as Democrats, pulled their heads out of their asses and took notice. Sure , they know the exact number of American soldiers that have died. And they can lie about the number of “innocent civilians” that our brave men and women have slaughtered. Many of us went to public school, but we know that you don’t pull large numbers out of your rectum with no basis in fact.

So, congratulations John! Huzzah! Bravo on the 20/20 hindsight. It must be awfully hard to see what’s ahead when your always looking behind to the past. Vietnam failed because communist hippies misrepresented everything that the war was about. Now the same group of people are doing the same thing, bent on the destruction of America. They want to lie about the “failure” of our effort in Iraq so that people really start to believe it’s just another Vietnam all over again.

We’re winning. We’re doing the right thing. We’re better off. The Iraqis are better off. The world is better off.

You may now attempt to persuade me that I’m not always right.

Mudville Gazette has a post on the real story that Point Five satirized.

I agree that you are right but a friend brought this up the other day “have you ever thought that while Democracy works for us mabye the Dictatorship worked for the Iraqis” i said “yeah right they liked getting gassed, blown up, dipped into acid and dying for no reason at all” but mabye he is right maybe it cant work out for them becasue they lived that way too long and don’t know anything else, and therefore we will have to stay there for years on end showing them how it works and why. I don’t know if we can truly call it victory until these people start to take initiative and
learn the ropes. I certainly don’t forsee us pulling out anytime soon
