Earlier today there was a rampant rumor that Edith Clement woud be nominated. Later in the afternoon it was reported that she would not, in fact get the nod. This was reported as – I kid you not – breaking news.

What! It’s “breaking news” that mere speculation was innaccurate? The press is really pathetic to think that speculation, or the debunking thereof, is news.
