WMD in Iraq
So the wignunts on the right are reprorting that their has been WMD found in Iraq. This seems leik the kind of think that should make liek minded progressives like myself have to rethnik are positoin on saying taht Bush Lied abotu WMDs.
I explane , but frist, here’s waht I found on Stomp teh ACLU:
Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) and Rep. Peter Hoekstra (R-Mich.) announced Wednesday the finding of over 500 munitions or weapons of mass destruction, specifically “sarin- and mustard-filled projectiles,” in Iraq.
Reading from unclassified portions of a document developed by the U.S. intelligence community, Santorum said, “Since 2003, coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent. Despite many efforts to locate and destroy Iraq’s pre-Gulf War chemical munitions, filled and unfilled pre-Gulf War chemical munitions are assessed to still exist.”
According to Santorum, “That means in addition to the 500, there are filled and unfilled munitions still believed to exist within the country.”
Now, Like minded progessives like myself always ignored any evedense of WMD not being lied by Bush about up to this piont, so why shouldl we change our tone now??? We’ave been saynig this for years already that theyres no WMD in Iraq. Bush Lied. It has never mattred as much evidense that there is to say othrewise, so why start now?
You couldl try to say that there old, even before anyone herd of Nirvana, and that what Bushitrel ment was that he was making new WMD, and wroking on Nukes. These are old WMD. Not nukes and not new ones, so still, Bush Lied.
Others mite say that This is to just deflect from low poll nubers. Always a good stragety too. Anytime we here good news, is good time to say , “Teh timing is verry suspishis. There just Deflecting pole nubmers again.
I think, stay the coarse. Keep saying Bush lied! No WMDs found. Saddam has no ties to AL Kaida.
Of coarse the best stragety porbably is to just stick to the negativ. Keep on focus on Abu Grabe, and Gitmoe. Warrentless wiretappig and troops are cold bloodd killers. Thats probably the best stratgey. Just don’t talk aboutu the success of war in Iraq.
